Q: When did you develop a love for painting?
EF: I have loved painting since I was a little girl. I can't remember a time that I didn't enjoy creating. My parents fostered my interest from an early age, and art making has always been a solace for me.
Q: What materials do you use in your work?
EF: I use mostly gouache (which is an opaque watercolor material). But I also add in watercolors, india ink and some acrylics.
Q: From where do you draw your inspiration?
EF: I'm a detail oriented person, so I can often fixate on a tiny idea that I want to study and grow. I am inspired by scripture and love taking a concept about God's truth and using my artwork to study and teach on the concept.
Q: Any business leaders or artists that inspire or influence you and your brand?
EF: Emily Jeffords is a very talented painter and teacher who has been instrumental in the growth of my business. Julie aka the playdough lady of Young, Wild and Friedman, a fellow mom and small business owner, inspires me with her willingness to flex and grow. Lynne Millar, a gorgeous oil painter, inspires me to paint the things I want to; anything can be beautiful if you care about it.
Q: What can we look forward to seeing from your brand in the near future?
EF: I typically have three large releases of collection paintings throughout the year, so stay tuned for Summer and Winter releases! I hope to offer some new, fresh products for the holidays too!
