As I reflect on our wedding weekend and relive the festivities through the beautiful pictures, I can't help but think of how the party really started with our fiesta engagement party! The first time all of your favorite people come together to celebrate you and your fiancé is so special and such a unique feeling. It's that overwhelming sense that 1) this is real and 2) oh my goodness, I am blessed beyond measure. That's exactly how our engagement party made us feel, and the mariachi band, taco truck and margarita machine didn't hurt!
The kids at the party (it was their house!) would later be in our wedding, and their enthusiasm and joy for the night stole the show. Here are a few pics from a fabulous night!
The Lantern Lit Entry
{little detail}
Junior from The Garden Gate in Dallas made this floral Bevo perfection! I had seen a picture years ago of something like this in the shape of a piñata. I showed the pic to my mom and she surprised us with Bevo, a nod to Alex's UT alma mater.
My cute mom had piñatas made to look like us-- they even used my dad's old glasses to resemble Alex! My mom had note cards with a piñata envelope for people to write notes to the bride and groom!
I absolutely loved my La Vie Stylehouse white caftan. I paired it with Hazen's Angela necklace and statement earrings. My dad and Alex wore guayaberas by Dos Carolinas, a favorite Houston brand. Alex actually ended up gifting his groomsmen with seersucker, monogramed guayaberas.
